Merry Christmas

Hi everyone we hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!!
Christmas was wonderful this year for us. Having Macario home was such a blessing. I had a new appreciation for the wonderful gift that God gave us by giving us his only son, and the celebration of his birth, by having my own son this year and what a miracle it is just to have him with us, and how close we came to loosing him.
We had a wonderful Christmas. We got to celebrate with all the kids (all 6) on Christmas eve and it was wonderful having everyone here with us. On Christmas day we got to have a wonderful Christmas dinner with my family at my parents house with all the siblings together.

Macario slept through most of it but was a wonderful addition to have on Christmas Day!!!!
He wore his Santa Suit on Christmas and made the most adorable Santa Ive ever seen.

Martin got to talk to his family in Washington and misses them very much, but thank goodness for phones so he is able to keep in contact, its hard being so far away from them but, at least he gets to talk to them.

We send Christmas wishes to everyone, may you and your family be as blessed as ours in the holiday season and throughout the coming new year..

With Love; Kim

Went to the doctors today

Hi everybody
We went to the doctors today and believe it or not Macario weighs 6 pounds and 6 ounces and 20 3/4 inches long....I cant believe it, he seems so big to me now, yet everyone who sees him says how small he is. He began to get his shots today and poor baby ended up getting 4 shots.

He is 2 1/2 months old now but according to his due date he would be only 6 days old. The birth to 3 program has begun their assessment on him and hopefully we will begin his therapy after the first of the year. The doctors said that his hemorrhage is still stable but, they are still concerned about it and we are going to keep a close eye on it, and pray that he does not ultimately need to get a shunt to drain it, so we once again come to you all and ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers. Other than that he is doing great. We are looking forward to the holidays and having our bundle of joy home with us.

Thanks for visiting and please leave a comment for us because we love hearing from you....

Macario is home

WOW.... Macario is now home with his family. Thank God for all of his blessings. Macario came home on November 18, 2008 we were so excited to have him home for Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for that Thanksgiving had an extra special meaning to us. Once again I am sorry I have not updated sooner but getting used to having a baby at home again has been a challenge (but one that I am happy to take on).

Macario is doing great he is a whooping 5 pounds 2 ounces. He has now doubled his size, to us he is a big boy. He came home on a monitor and continues to be on one for his apnea but has had very few episodes. He is still on caffine and zantac but, we are going to stop these next week and see how he does. His due date is this Friday December 12, 2008 so this is where the doctors say that we can begin to document his progress.

The brain hemmorage is still stable as of now and we are continuing to pray that this will get better soon. We still do not know the long term effects from this and the prematurity but are praying there are none. We are getting involved in an early intervention program to help us with these effects if they appear.

Mommy and Daddy are trying to get used to the sleepless nights, but feel blessed that Macario is a good sleeper, the doctor just took him off the every 3 hour feeding to on demand feedings and Macario is now sleeping for 5 hours straight (he is such a good boy).

We thank everyone again for all your support and prayers and ask that you continue to pray.

God Bless you and Your family

first we want to thank everyone for their prayers and concern. Macario has been through so much, but we are greatful for everything the NICU at Ruby Memorial has done. Since the last update we have found out that his iron was too low and he had to have a blood transfusion, which really helped him so much. We also thought he may have a stomach infection, but it turned out not to be. But, the wonderful news came today!!!!

MACARIO MAY BE COMING HOME SOON!!!!!

Yes, the doctors said today that if all goes well (his head hemorage is doing much better) that he may come home on Monday or Tuesday. Wow we are so excited yet nervous at the same time, so please continue to keep us in your prayers.

God has worked many miracles in Macario's life so, for those that say they are not sure there is a God just look at the miracle he has made. Macario...

Thanksgiving is nearing and our family has so much to be thankful for we dont even know where to begin. So we shall start by saying once again Thank You for all your prayers for without those im not sure what would have happend.

We will try to update more often so please keep in contact we love hearing from you.

Thank you all who have been praying for Macario. God has definitely answered ours prayers. Macario now weighs 2.11 lbs, and is off of his ivs, and the lights. All he has now is the feeding tube. He is such a little fighter and God has a protecting hand around him.

I can't wait until we can bring him home. He has to weigh at least 4 lbs and be at least 35 weeks old he is now 32. Keep praying for him that he would grow even stronger and gain much more weight. Ill keep you all updated.

Love you

Still no updates on the progression of the bleeding, but there haven't been signs of swelling so that's a major praise. They upgraded his food intake to 5 millimeters a day now, because he has been digesting so well. They took him off of the blue lights, so my mom got to hold him today. they are also going to be weening him off of the IV's so that's wonderful news. Praise God.

thank you for all of your prayers and support. continue to pray. i will daily update this for all of you to stay informed. feel free to leave comments or anything !

love you,

Even though yesterday held some bad news, and there have not been any updates on how that whole process is going there are some ups about today. Macario's feeding has gone up to 2 millimeters a day now, and my mom was able to hold hime for about 15 minutes today. She is going to be giving him a bath today, which he isnt too fond of sometimes :] !

thank you so much for all of your prayers and support, we really appreciate it and he needs it right now. please continue to pray for Macario and the rest of our family. There are going to be a lot of ups and downs during this whole process but God definitely has a plan for it all and prayer will be our biggest help.

love you,

My baby brother

This is my amazing little brother, Macario. He was born on October 5, 2008 at 1:20 pm. he weighed only 2 lbs 7 ounces.

This already tiny boy is now down to 2 lbs 3 ounces. We found out today that he has some bleeding in his brain and some possible swelling. This may correct itself and then again may not. Even if it does correct itself he could have some long term effects with his legs and even cognitively.

This post is a simple update of my brother, short but with a ton of meaning to me. I ask that you would be praying for this little man, my Turtle, that he would be strengthened and that God would just keep His protective hands around him. Also, please keep my family in your prayers, especially the Mommy and Daddy that they would through this come closer to Christ and trust in Him.

Love you,
aps
